Amy Mann Designs
In 2005, I learned to decorate cakes. That led me to scrapbooking and card making, then candy making, jewelry making, knitting (which I was never any good at!), and crocheting. I love music, and my husband plays guitar, which is why I started making guitar pick earrings for myself and then selling them to others. I've been focusing mostly on my scarves and guitar pick earrings recently but will hopefully be expanding to some new things very soon! I love being crafty and seeing other people enjoy the things I make!

Big Girl Baubles
I've been crafting since about age 2. I've always been one to see something I like and say, "I can make that," or, "I want to learn to make that." I've really focused on jewelry over the last couple of years out of necessity - I can't afford it so I have to make it! I found other people are in the same boat and I began taking custom orders about 2 years ago. I try to use elements that are silver-plated rather than sterling so that anyone can afford my pieces. I sell my "kitschy" jewelry at the comic book shows my husband makes me go to but this is my first craft show. I have started to focus recently on greener options and am using recycled elements in some of my jewelry pieces as well as repurposing glass bottles into wind chimes.

Blue Mutt Designs
In this age of technology, I have always been drawn to a simpler way of life. I learned to knit from my grandmother when I was 9 and while I still don't own my own sheep, I spin my own yarn to knit with. After friends complimented me on my handspun yarn and gifts, I decided to offer it for sale for the discerning knitter. All of my yarn is spun on my Ashford Kiwi wheel here in my home in Athens and much of it is also dyed by me. I love to experiment with new fibers and techniques and my yarns reflect my search for simplicity in the midst of modern life.

Cathy Dailey
It is my love of animals and the joy they give me that drives me to create images of them. Over the past several years my animal images have evolved from serious, stylized watercolors to humorous images rendered in colored pencil and acrylic paint, often incorporating collage and recycled/found materials. I feel like animals are incredibly expressive and at times very funny, so if a client laughs at my work I feel I have accomplished something!

Harwood Homemade - Pottery by Anne M. Thompson
Looking for an artistic outlet, I discovered pottery in 2003. I fell in love with the process first, and then the results. There is peace in molding clay, and comfort in the taking mud from the earth and transforming it into something practical and more permanent. Initially, this was a hobby - until I created so many pieces that I had to sell some to enable me to justify and support what has clearly evolved into something far more than a pastime. I have taken clay classes with instructors at Good Dirt in Athens, Georgia on and off since 2003 and have studio space there. I especially enjoy making functional pieces that feel good to hold and work well with the busy-ness of life - serving drinks or a plate of cookies as well as hostess pieces for less common, celebratory gatherings.

Katie Palani
"Katie's project, Don't Lose Me!, reflects her captivation by handiwork of a past generation, fashioning rolled paper beads from magazine scraps and a little varnish. Her quest is threefold: don't lose the arts of our mothers and grandmothers; don't lose the land we love and depend on; and don't lose the joy of exploration.
To that end, Katie's art is a continuation of what others before her have done, making beads from scrap paper, strung on a bit of string, with a bead here and there. All of her collections employ left-over and loose bits collected from fabric stores and junk drawers, and her beads will, sadly, biodegrade some day when you toss them in the compost heap. And since she's been ever the writer, not the artist, in a family of gifted painters, seamstresses, musicians and cooks, this has been her first encounter with the joy of exploration."

Lapidary Layne
Lapidary? That's always the first question. Lapidary is the art of forming stone, minerals, or gemstones into decorative items.
I have been collecting minerals and rocks since childhood. Within the last 10 years I have traveled across the U.S several times to dig and collect at numerous mines. Eventually, I learned to cut my own stones, which spiraled into making jewelry. I am a member of the Athens Gem and Mineral Club as well as M.A.G.M.A. My goal is to share my love forÊrocks and minerals, as well as meeting other fellow jewelry makers who are interested in hand cut gemstones. Mother Earth is a beautiful place, FOR THE LOVE OF ROCKS, CAN YOU DIG IT?
