Bluebell Pottery
have worked in ceramics for fifteen years. My fascination with clay has led me to gain the technical knowledge necessary to successfully express my ideas. Playing in the dirt is always a stimulating challenge. I have had the wonderful opportunity of working with two very talented artist and teachers. Andy Nasisse and Ted Saupe. They have both influenced my direction through teaching essential techniques while inspiring experimentation, intuitive play and self-exploration/expression. Most importantly they encouraged me to think of myself as an artist. I have also had the honor of taking a workshop with Nancy Blum, another brilliant ceramic artist. During one of her lectures she read: "A person who works with their hands is a laborer. A person who works with hands and their heart is a craftsman. A person that works with their hands, their heart and their mind is an artist." My husband Shannon and I live in Comer, Georgia with our 10 year old twins, Paxton and Sebastian. Our studio is located in the "Old Blue Bell Building". Its 12,000 square feet have lived many different lives over the past 108 years and has undergone many exciting changes. It is now our home, gallery and studio and three other retail businesses.
